INTERESTS

This is gonna be long.

[1] Tech: Mostly PC and server. I use Mac, Windows, Linux and just recently started a home server to host my media services and POC projects.

[2] Audio: I've enjoyed hi-fi audio since I got my first Shure SE215 and got hooked on the sound of a live concert flooding through my ears. I'm on the objective side, following the philosophy of NwAvGuy: well-engineered, transparent equipment at a reasonable cost, not snake oil and burn-in mythology. Current rotation: HD6XX, Hifiman HE500, Etymotic ER4XR, Crinacle Meta, Artti T10 Pro. I still run the JDS Labs O2/ODAC DIY, and I'm proud of my desktop setup: KEF R100 + Emotiva A100. Almost all bought used, which you'll see is a recurring theme.

[3] Mechanical Keyboards: A good chef needs a good knife, a good developer needs a good keyboard. (That's what I told myself, anyway.) Started with the Anne Pro, then dove deep into the custom keyboard scene. Currently: HHKB Pro 2, Kei (60% is goated), KFE CE (silver so good), MGA Standard (alice also goated).

[4] Classic Menswear: I still have my London Brown loafers that I've worn for 14 years. I believe I can wear my Ring Jacket suit until the day I die. I enjoy a timeless, wearable everyday style: soft-tailoring, effortless, emphasis on proportions, and value. I have a lot of stuff from Spier & Mackay, and a lot of vintage stuff. I like nice Goodyear welted shoes - Meermin, Carmina, John Lobb. Most bought used. My grail is Edward Green, but that can wait until after I've exited my startup (no consultant money now).

[5] Anime: Let's just say as of this writing, I've watched 317 animes... some of my favorites: Ping Pong the Animation, Attack on Titan, A Place Further than the Universe, Akira, Monogatari Series, Cowboy Bebop, and a lot of KyoAni works.

[6] Hiking and Camping: I just started getting into ultralight backpacking. I love the whole process from researching routes, planning equipment, and setting up camp. There's nothing more satisfying than an expedition through wilderness, enjoying untouched nature.

[7] Tennis and golf:I think I'll keep playing golf for my whole life (and still can't break 80). Nothing matches the feeling of a flushed 5-iron, 200 yards right at the flag. I can't find that in any other sport. Still, I need tennis for my cardio.

[8] Learning: Mostly through YouTube, official docs, blog posts. I also take digital notes obsessively so I can go back to them anytime. Some of my favorites: TED-ED, Kurzgesagt, Hank Green, minutephysics, Crash Course, Y Combinator. Lately, a lot of AI.
